URL Encode / Decode
Encode special characters in URLs or decode encoded URLs.
Everything runs in your browser. Your data is never sent to a server.
What does the URL Encode tool do?
Some characters, such as spaces, &, ?, # and non-ASCII letters, have special meaning in URLs or can't be used directly. URL encoding turns them into percent codes like %20 and %26. Use this tool to encode query parameters safely or make encoded addresses readable.
What is it for?
- Adding a search term with non-ASCII characters to a query parameter
- Reading sequences like %C5%9F that show up in logs
- Passing a redirect URL as a parameter of another URL
Things to keep in mind
- Encode only the parameter values, not the whole address; otherwise the https:// part gets mangled too.
