What does the Password Generator tool do?
A strong password resists guessing and brute-force attacks thanks to its length and variety of characters. This tool creates passwords with your browser's cryptographic random generator (crypto.getRandomValues); the result is never sent anywhere.
What is it for?
- Creating a password for a new account or database user
- Generating a temporary password or an in-app secret
Things to keep in mind
- Length matters more than character variety; 16 characters or more is recommended.
- Use a different password for every account and keep them in a password manager.
